BT 20 is a GSM telephone signal repeater (900MHz) able to increase the range of mobile phones. It can be used in offices, restaurants, hotels, commercial centers, countryside, tunnels, houses where an outdoor signal is present, but no indoor signals because of obstacles as mountains, concrete walls, basements etc. BT 20 is a wide band unit covering not only one GSM signal but all 900 MHz GSM communication up to 10 channels. Not suitable for 1800 MHz, but most cellphones switch back to 900 MHz if a 1800 MHz net is unavailable.
Very easy installation, two directional antennas (one of them with preamplifier) have to be installed on the top of the building (more signal from provider, more link efficiency).
Two directional antennas are installed into the area you wish to cover, in a shielded position away from the external antennas.
BT20 basically consists of two high gain, low noise amplifiers for down link and up link. It is not a radio transmitter, but it is an accessory, without any other generator equipment. It does not transmit any radio signal (European rules EN 55022, EN50081-1, EN 50082-2, ETSI300 609-4, 1999/5/CE).
Uplink 902-925 MHz 90dB typ. gain with preamplifier, Downlink 947-960 MHz, 60dB typ. gain. 10 dBm output level, max. 5dBm per channel E.C.C. rules.
Important!
For an efficient operating of BT 20 system it is necessary that the signal coming clear from cell provider without reflections. Before installing the outdoor antennas verify the signal should be not less than 30-40% of the full level indicated by a GSM telephone, otherwise there might be not enough performance for an efficient use of BT 20.
Indoor and outdoor antenna must be shielded from each other to avoid input-output auto-oscillation (feedback), because Input and Output are operating on same frequency. To obtain these conditions we suggest to take advantage of concrete or metallic roof, walls, floors, etc.
The outdoor antennas must be placed on the roof with minimum 3-4 mt. distance between them and oriented in direction of the next GSM provider cell. The internal antennas must be placed into the area you want to cover with a minimum distance of 3-4m.
The main unit is not weather protected and has to be installed indoors.
Depending on the application and situation three different kits are available:
BT-20 with 2x directional antennas for outdoors, 2x directional flat panel antennas for indoors
BT-20 OM with 2x omni-directional antennas outdoors, 2x directional flat panel antennas indoors
BZ-20 LOG5 with 4x directional antennas (2 for outdoors, 2 for indoors)

Each version of the BT-20 GSM repeater is shipped with 10m cable for each antenna, resulting in max. 20m cable distance between indoor and out door antennas. If that distance is not sufficient you can extension sets BT-20XT??. BT-20XT?? is using low loss cable with approx. 10mm diameter (Ecoflex-10 or similiar).
The KS Extension Kits for 1 to 4 additional indoor antenna sets allow the extension of the indor coverage. This is useful for coverage of separate floors, separate areas and rooms etc. Only one BT-20 amplifier is used.
Each extension kit contains all parts required for the installation, like 2 antennas, 2 antenna cables, adaptos and splitter. The antenna cables are 10m long. The above mentioned extension cables BT-20XT?? can nit be used with these extension kits. If the cable length is not enough for your installation please contact us for an individual offer.
